Nova Publishing is home business operated by Nauman Vania, in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. Oshawa is located just outside of Toronto. Nauman studied Geography at the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario from 1992 to 1996. After graduating from Western, he worked as a Geographical Information System Technician at the City of Oshawa office for one year. He continued his studies in Cartography and Graphic Design at Sir Sandford Fleming College, in Lindsay. In 1997, he won the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) Award for Outstanding Cartographic Design, for his map Central Park. His map of the Cape Penninsula in South Africa recieved honourable mention. From 1998 to 2001, he worked at Rand McNally Canada, drawing and arranging map products. During this time he continued his work in the web design field desinging web sites for various organisations and businesses. As well as, designing advertising pamplets and brocures. In 2001, Alhumdolillah, he was able to perform the rites of hajj and umrah. While in the cities of Madinah and Makkah, he collected maps and information for the Hajj, Umrah and Ziyarat: Map and Guide project. Once the map was completed, it was sent out to various Islamic scholars for corrections. Finally, in 2006 with the help of Al-Rashad books in the US, the map has been printed and is now available for purchase. Today, Nauman is employed as a teacher in the Durham District School Board. |
